Spinning, Arms Spread

Filed under: General, The Show — Clark Gable @ Fri, 22:56

“Spinning, arms spread, and crushing the tops of mountains with my hands.
As I dive into the Pacific, I flood the shorelines.”

Song: It Was Fear Of Myself That Made Me Odd by Alexisonfire.
Reason: Clark finally has a chance to slow down and take stock of things.

Today’s episode marks as brief interruption in the show’s programming schedule, as Our Hero finally has a chance to unwind somewhat! The writers have assured me that there’s material in the pipeline for Monday, but until the show airs, let’s take stock of the last few episodes shall we?

Somehow, Clark managed to work an entire day with one of his contact lenses in backwards, leaving him the proud recipient of one very bloodshot eye. A crazy eye, in fact. Just like the crazy eye of Mad Eye Moody in the Harry Potter books. While Clark’s eye might not have protruded quite so far from his face, it was certainly uncomfortable. Not “feels like there’s a rat in my brain!” uncomfortable, but more like “are you sure that lemon juice is good for the eye?” uncomfortable.
Matters have not been helped by Kieran’s poor workplace performance, leaving Clark and Oscar to carry most of the workload while Kieran appears to work, but achieves very little. Thankfully, Clark is good at his job. Apparently, he’s also good at Kieran’s job too. *flamed!*

We also learned a lesson in customer service which goes something like this:
“If you ever find yourself proven wrong, insist loudly that you were right, that the person trying to help you obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing, and even if the problem is resolved, you still want a refund because you, being the customer, are always right.”

Clark is tired. When he’s tired, he doesn’t feel too funny.

But he’s still got lips that put Fred Astaire’s feet to shame.

Head On To Heartache

Filed under: General, The Show — Clark Gable @ Tue, 21:34

And just why is Our Hero posting with such a depressing title? Dear viewer, let us assure you that the reason for this title is partly related to the show, and partly related to the song du jour.

Song: Head On To Heartache (Let Them Rot) by Devildriver.
Reason: A Guest Star departs from the show.

For the last week, Clark has been directing charm, affection, and more than a few kisses towards our unnamed female guest star, whom for reason’s of Clark’s own privacy, we shall refer to as M. Viewers of the show will no doubt be familiar with the burgeoning romance between Clark and M, but unfortunately, problems with scheduling have brought an end to this particular story thread.

Clark’s own words on the subject have happily proven poignant. A person can no more avoid heartache than they can avoid the rain. If you go out into the rain, you’re going to get wet and as such, the best thing for a person to do is to simply enjoy the rain, rather than complain about it. Heartache is precisely the same situation. When you’re with someone, even if you’re forewarned about the ending, your best bet is to enjoy the time you have.

“Don’t run away from heartache. Run towards it.

Posting with Windows Live Writer

Filed under: Tech, General, The Show — Clark Gable @ Sun, 18:45

For future reference, when you need to set up WLW with Wordpress, the remote posting php script is generally sat in the root directory that you’ve got Wordpress installed on your FTP.

Clark, bless ‘im, didn’t realise this and had to go scooting all over the internet to find out something that he could’ve figured out in half the time, if only he’d tried.

Signal Return

Filed under: General, The Show — Clark Gable @ Fri, 23:46

Aside from the title to this post also being a Tiger Army tune from ‘Music From Regions Beyond’, it’s also a sign that The Clark Gable Show will be returning shortly! Given a little time for a day at work to elapse, and a little thought on what should comprise the first post of the new season, then we’ll finally get back to your scheduled programming.

If nothing else, Clark missed the attention you.
